NBA Christmas in July is now underway, and all 30 teams are looking to find the best present for their fans before it is too late and they end up without a TurboMan action figure on Christmas Eve. With the acquisition of George Hill via trade, the Jazz will now look to deepen their roster by adding a wing/stretch four. So far, four players's names have been associated with the Jazz: Solomon Hill, Jared Dudley, Luol Deng, and Maurice Harkless.
Hill's defense and 3-point shooting capabilities make him a good fit for the Jazz. Tony Jones of the The Salt Lake Tribune has reported that "interest is mutual" between Hill and Jazz. As an added bonus, the Jazz FO likes to make play-by-play announcers jobs more difficult, and Burks/Burke Trey/Trey Hill/Hill fits the bill.
Dudley provides a solid veteran presence that the Jazz desperately need. Of note is that Dudley has played on five teams in his eight year career, which could be considered a red flag.
Deng, if willing to take a bench role, could be an excellent addition to the Jazz roster, providing leadership, tenacity, and solid defense.
Harkless is the newest name to be added to the Jazz rumor mill. The Blazers have extended a qualifying offer to Harkless, providing them with the opportunity to match any offer he may receive.
